New ad highlights Jacky Rosen’s opposition to President Trump’s policy of separating families at the border, support for protecting Dreamers
Nevada Congresswoman and candidate for U.S. Senate Jacky Rosen’s campaign launched a new 30-second Spanish-language television ad today highlighting her commitment to standing up against President Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda. “Momento” focuses on her fight against the Trump Administration’s cruel separation of immigrant children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border, and her commitment to protecting the future of Dreamers. This is the Rosen campaign’s second Spanish-language television ad of the cycle.
“Unlike Sen. Heller, Jacky Rosen hasn’t been afraid to stand up against the Trump Administration’s heartless anti-immigrant agenda that has torn families apart and put Dreamers at risk,” said Rosen for Nevada deputy campaign manager Mariela Hernandez. “Nevada deserves a Senator who has the backbone to do what’s right, and Jacky is committed to keeping families together and ensuring permanent relief for Dreamers.”
When President Trump came to Las Vegas last month to fundraise for Republican Sen. Dean Heller’s re-election campaign, Heller apparently declined to push back directly on the family separation crisis. After President Trump made the heartless move to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program last year, Heller repeatedly declined to support the Dream Act and played politics instead of doing what’s right. Over the past year, Heller has often aligned himself with President Trump on immigration at Nevada’s expense. Just a few months ago, Heller said he “didn’t have time” to meet with the bipartisan group of senators working on a DACA solution and then voted against two bipartisan Senate bills to protect Dreamers while cozying up to President Trump.
Narrator: “This is a ‘where were you’ moment. Congresswoman Jacky Rosen went to the border to bear witness and fought against Trump’s policy of separating children from their parents. The granddaughter of immigrants, Jacky believes in the American dream because her family lived it. That’s why in Congress, she’s standing up to Trump to protect the future of Dreamers. Because we’re not just a nation of laws, but of justice too.”
