Nevada Congresswoman and candidate for U.S. Senate Jacky Rosen released the following statement:
“This is a critical lifetime appointment to the nation’s highest court, and the outcome will directly affect Nevadans for decades to come. Based on his record, I believe Judge Kavanaugh is a threat to the future of women’s reproductive freedom, the Affordable Care Act, consumer protections, campaign finance reform, and our civil rights. Judge Kavanaugh’s disturbing partisan tirade in front of the Judiciary Committee further demonstrated that he lacks the impartiality, the integrity, and the judicial temperament to sit on the Supreme Court. For all of these reasons, I could not support Judge Kavanaugh and would vote against confirming him to the Supreme Court if I were serving in the Senate.
“The fact that Senator Heller still doesn’t have a single reservation about confirming Judge Kavanaugh and even dismissed credible allegations of sexual assault against him as nothing more than ‘a little hiccup’ in the confirmation process shows that he’s clearly out of touch with Nevadans and never had any intention of being an independent voice on this Supreme Court nominee. Voters will hold Senator Heller accountable for becoming just another rubber stamp for President Trump’s nominees and his reckless agenda in Washington.”
