Rosen Campaign Announces New Veterans Advisory Council

Jacky Rosen has a proven record working across the aisle and fighting for Nevada’s veterans

Nevada Congresswoman Jacky Rosen’s campaign for U.S. Senate announced the formation today of its Veterans Advisory Council, a network of veterans from across the state. Members of the council will advise the Rosen campaign on issues important to Nevada veterans and play an active role in reaching out to the veterans community ahead of the election in November.

“I’m so grateful to have the support and guidance and insight of this outstanding group of veterans from across our state,” said Rosen. “These Nevadans put their lives on the line to defend our freedoms, and when they complete their military service they deserve a government that honors and fulfills its promises to them. I’m proud of the bipartisan work I’ve done in Congress to support our veterans, and our Veterans Advisory Council will help me continue to stay informed on key issues and keep up this important work.”

“As a veteran who served our country in Vietnam, I want a Senator who I can trust to stand up to the broken system in Washington and fight for me instead of looking out for themselves,” said David Tipton, U.S. Army, EOD Specialist (Ret.). “When it comes to holding the VA accountable and ensuring veterans can access the benefits they’ve earned like quality health care and a good education, I know we can always count on Jacky Rosen to do what’s right for our state.”

“Jacky Rosen has been a determined advocate for veterans in Congress, and I know she’ll be the champion we deserve in the Senate,” said Steve Horner, U.S. Army, Specialist 5. “While Senator Heller puts his billionaire donors and party leaders first, Jacky is looking out for Nevada first and the best interests of hardworking families in our state. She understands the issues that matter to veterans, she listens and seeks our input, and I look forward to helping her get elected in November.”

Jacky Rosen’s father was a World War II veteran and she deeply respects the sacrifices our veterans have made to protect our country. With more than 200,000 veterans calling Nevada home, Jacky believes we need to do everything we can to take care of our veterans and military families.

Jacky has stood up for veterans in Congress, and her office brought more than $700,000 back to her district last year by helping veterans obtain benefits. She has fought to improve veteran health care programs, raise the pay of servicemembers, combat veteran homelessness, provide tax credits to businesses that hire veterans, and improve veterans’ access to child care. She helped introduce the Forever GI bill to expand college assistance for veterans and allow new servicemembers to use their education benefits later in life. In the Senate, Jacky will continue working to cut red tape and increase accountability at the VA to ensure we fulfill our promises to Nevada’s veterans.
