Heller faces criticism for his false attacks on Jacky Rosen’s record, bad grade on veterans’ report card in new ad
Nevada Congresswoman Jacky Rosen’s campaign for U.S. Senate launched a new 30-second television ad today featuring Nevada veterans slamming Republican Sen. Dean Heller for playing politics with veterans and lying about Jacky’s record. “Day One” features Nevada veterans criticizing Heller for trying to distract from his own bad grade on veterans’ issues with false attacks on Jacky’s record. Jacky has worked tirelessly across party lines to support Nevada’s veterans and military families since being elected to Congress, and she broke with party leadership last year to support increasing accountability at the VA.
“While Senator Heller shamelessly lies and plays politics with veterans to try to distract from his dismal record, Jacky Rosen has been fighting for Nevada’s veterans since day one.” said Rosen for Nevada campaign manager Danny Kazin. “In Congress, Jacky Rosen has worked across the aisle and and has stood up to her own party leadership to do what’s right for those who fought for us.”
Jacky Rosen’s father was a World War II veteran, and she deeply respects the sacrifices our veterans have made to protect our country. Jacky’s office brought more than $700,000 back to her district last year by helping veterans obtain their benefits. She has fought to improve veteran health care programs, raise the pay of servicemembers, combat veteran homelessness, and improve veterans’ access to child care. She helped introduce the Forever GI bill to expand college assistance for veterans and allow servicemembers to use their education benefits later in life. Jacky worked across party lines this year to introduce bipartisan legislation that will expand a tax credit to incentivize businesses to hire student veterans and provide specialized training to help transitioning servicemembers find jobs in the solar industry.
Jacky serves on the House Armed Services Committee and she is a member of the Military Personnel Subcommittee. She is also part of the bipartisan Congressional Military Family Caucus.
