Today Nevada Congresswoman and candidate for U.S. Senate Jacky Rosen campaigned alongside U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak at an event with young professionals of the Urban League in downtown Las Vegas to discuss what’s at stake in this election and ways to get involved, and discussed issues like education and mental health care.
The Las Vegas Urban League Young Professionals is a local affiliate of the National Urban League that targets young African American professionals to empower their communities and change lives.
“With so much at stake right now, every Nevadan needs to make their voice heard at the ballot box and get their families and communities engaged in this election,” said Rosen. “It was an honor to join the men and women of the Las Vegas Urban League Young Professionals today. The future of the Affordable Care Act, the Supreme Court, and our civil rights and voting rights are all on the line. Senator Heller has proven he’s on the wrong side of these issues, and voters will hold him accountable in November.”
“This is such a consequential election for our state, and we can’t afford to sit it out,” said Breon King, Las Vegas Urban League Young Professionals Civic Engagement Chair. “Senator Heller keeps showing that he cares more about partisan politics than the interests of regular Nevadans. Jacky Rosen understands the importance of coming to the table and working to find smart solutions that promote our community, and she’s the voice we deserve to have fighting for us in the U.S. Senate.”
