Las Vegas Review-Journal: “For the fourth straight quarter, Democratic challenger Jacky Rosen has raised more campaign contributions than incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Dean Heller”
Sen. Dean Heller’s campaign released fundraising numbers this week for the second quarter of 2018 making this now the fourth quarter in a row where Nevada Congresswoman Jacky Rosen’s campaign for U.S. Senate has outraised the Heller campaign.
The Rosen campaign brought in more than $3.5 million in the three-month period from April through June, which represents the most ever raised in Nevada for the second quarter of an election year in a U.S. Senate race. To date, the Senate campaign has received more than 165,000 total donations. More than 96 percent of contributions to the campaign over the second quarter were $100 or less, and the campaign’s average contribution during this period was $40.
“The momentum to win this race is on our side,” said Rosen campaign manager Danny Kazin. “Jacky Rosen has consistently outraised Sen. Heller every single fundraising quarter thanks to an outpouring of grassroots support. Nevadans have had enough of President Trump’s rubber stamp in the Senate, and we have the resources to flip this seat in November.”
Sen. Dean Heller is the most vulnerable Republican senator running for re-election and the only GOP senator facing a ‘toss-up’ race. Since Rosen announced her challenge against Heller, Nevada’s Senate seat has been widely viewed as the #1 most likely to flip parties in November.
