Congresswomen Cheri Bustos, Debbie Dingell and Lois Frankel Campaign with Jacky in Henderson
Henderson, Nev. – Henderson community leader Jacky Rosen, who is running to represent Nevada’s open 3rd Congressional District, hosted a roundtable discussion today focused on critical issues like women’s health, paycheck fairness and paid family leave. Jacky was joined at her campaign office by Congresswomen Cheri Bustos of Illinois, Debbie Dingell of Michigan, Lois Frankel of Florida and women supporters.
Jacky Rosen: “Our policies need to empower women to succeed and support their families. That’s why I believe reproductive health decisions should be made by women and their doctors, not career politicians, and women in the workplace deserve guaranteed paid family leave and equal pay for equal work. My extreme opponent Danny Tarkanian doesn’t support the Paycheck Fairness Act, wants to defund Planned Parenthood and would outlaw a woman’s right to choose, even in cases of rape or incest. His ideological agenda would harm women and families across Southern Nevada and add to the partisan dysfunction in Washington.”
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell: “It’s past time for Congress to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act to give women the tools they need to challenge pay discrimination in the workplace. Jacky understands from personal experience what it’s like to earn less than the men when you’re doing the same work, and I look forward to having her join the fight for equal pay for equal work as our colleague in the House next year.”
Congresswoman Lois Frankel: “Every woman has a constitutional right to make her own decisions about her reproductive health, and that right is under assault by Republican extremists like Danny Tarkanian. In Congress, I know Jacky will protect a woman’s right to choose, access to birth control and Planned Parenthood funding.”
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos: “Guaranteeing paid family leave will strengthen families, businesses and our economy, and it will ensure no working parent ever has to choose between making ends meet and caring for a new baby or their aging parents. We need more women in Congress like Jacky who will work to expand that kind of personal economic security for working families across this country.”
Jacky’s opponent, Danny Tarkanian, is an ultra-conservative who wants to , even in cases of rape or incest. He supports , which serves more than in Nevada. And he allowing employers to use “religious liberties” protections to deny contraceptive coverages to their employees. He has never expressed support for the Paycheck Fairness Act or guaranteeing paid family leave.
