Henderson, Nev. – Jacky Rosen, Democratic candidate for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District, released the following statement today as House Republicans resumed their bogus investigation against Planned Parenthood:
“Planned Parenthood offers important services like birth control and STD testing as well as access to life-saving cancer screenings for women and families here in Southern Nevada. These wasteful attacks on women’s health from House Republicans are driven by an extreme anti-choice agenda. Instead of obsessing over this ideological crusade to vilify a women’s health organization, Congress should focus on the needs of our communities: small businesses, college affordability, retirement security. This is nothing more than a biased and unsubstantiated witch hunt, and Nevada’s 3rd District deserves a representative who will fight for real solutions for this community.”
Planned Parenthood serves more than 21,000 patients in Nevada. After anti-choice extremists who have since been indicted created misleading videos about Planned Parenthood, multiple investigations – including Nevada’s Republican Attorney General – have cleared Planned Parenthood of wrongdoing. Leading medical schools across the country, including the University of Nevada School of Medicine, have raised strong concerns about this sham investigation.
