Jacky Rosen Statement on Labor Day

Henderson, Nev. – Henderson community leader Jacky Rosen released the following statement for Labor Day:

“The labor movement’s persistent fight for fair wages and better workplace conditions created America’s middle class, and on Labor Day we honor their remarkable progress and everything they’ve achieved to strengthen our families. I learned the importance of the labor movement growing up – my grandmother was a Bakers and Confectioners Union member for decades, and my great uncles were firefighters. When I started my career here in Southern Nevada, I worked weekends as a banquet waitress to make ends meet and was a proud member of the Culinary Workers Union. Whether it’s fighting for paycheck fairness for women, raising the minimum wage or protecting Social Security and Medicare for seniors, I will always stand with the working people of my district as your Congresswoman.”
