Henderson, Nev. – Henderson community leader Jacky Rosen, candidate for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District, released the following statement on her ultra-conservative opponent Danny Tarkanian introducing Donald Trump at an event today in Las Vegas:
“By campaigning today with Donald Trump, Danny Tarkanian missed an opportunity to condemn the Republican presidential nominee’s disturbing bigotry, sexism and lack of judgment. Instead, Danny confirmed that he wants to go to Washington so he can be a rubber stamp for Donald Trump’s divisive agenda that will hurt our economy and make America less safe. Southern Nevada families want a representative in Congress who will fight for common sense, whether that’s raising the minimum wage, fixing our broken immigration system or defending a woman’s right to choose. Danny Tarkanian’s full-throated endorsement of Donald Trump today shows just how out of touch he is with the people of this district.”
Jacky Rosen was the first member of her family to graduate from college, where she worked two jobs and took out student loans to make ends meet. Over summers, Jacky waitressed in Las Vegas and was a proud member of the Culinary Workers Union Local 226. After graduation, Jacky worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst for some of the biggest companies in Nevada, including Summa Corporation, Citibank, and Southwest Gas Company. As President of Congregation Ner Tamid in Henderson for the past three years, Jacky dedicates her time to building community and helping those in need. Jacky lives in Henderson with her husband Larry, a radiologist at the Las Vegas Veterans Hospital, and her daughter Miranda.
