Henderson, Nev. – Rosen for Nevada announced today that the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 has officially endorsed Jacky Rosen in the Democratic primary for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.
“As a student working my way through college, I waited tables in Las Vegas during the summer and was a proud member of the Culinary Union, so it’s a special honor to have their endorsement in this race,” said Jacky Rosen. “The Culinary Union has been a tireless force for raising wages, improving workplace conditions and ensuring a secure retirement for seniors here in Southern Nevada. This community deserves a representative who will take on Tea Party Republicans and champion the rights of unions and workers. I look forward to taking the voices and stories of Culinary members to Washington as the next Congresswoman for Nevada’s 3rd District.”
With approximately 57,000 members, the Culinary Union represents more workers than any other union in Nevada. The Nevada State AFL-CIO, representing more than 120 unions across Nevada, also endorsed Jacky last month.
Jacky was the first member of her family to graduate from college, attending the University of Minnesota where she worked two jobs and took out student loans to make ends meet. Over summers, Jacky waitressed in Las Vegas and was a proud member of the Culinary Union.
